"We are African Women in Hamm…!", May 2015, Hamm, Germany

We are in Yvonne's kitchen sitting around the table after a sumptuous "British Breakfast"... We recorded our after-breakfast conversation as start-up material for a serious of podcasts and a radio show, which we want to produce with the women who'll join us in the meetings of the Yes-Afrika-Women's-Forum over the next couple of month.

Here you can, if you wish, listen to the entire footage recording of our conversation. Firstly, we pick up on the just enjoyed "British Breakfast" and raise questions about "the colonizers in the kitchen"... From the "cult of civilisation", we branch off into a discussion about another "colonial heritage", Christianity, on the continent and in the African community over here. "In Africa, you don't have a choice…", says Yvonne... In the third part of this footage recording, we'll hear Yvonne and Glory talk about the African women here in Hamm, their experiences among the women and their wishes and visions for the work ahead.
